Vision Skateboards

Vision Skateboards was founded in 1978 by Mark Gonzales, who is considered one of the pioneers of street skateboarding. Gonzales started the company with the aim of providing high-quality gear for skateboarders and quickly established Vision as one of the leading skateboard brands of the time.In addition to skateboards, Vision also produced street wear under the name Vision Street Wear. The company was known for its top-performing gear and its commitment to innovation, always pushing the boundaries of what was possible in skateboarding. One of Vision's most famous products was the Psycho Stick deck, designed by Andy Takakjian. The deck was named after a "psycho man" who worked at Vision, who was often swamped by kids and eventually had to hide from them. Despite its unusual origins, the Psycho Stick became one of Vision's most popular products and was even featured on the final INXS album cover.Another popular product from Vision was the Gonz deck, also designed by Takakjian. The Gonz deck was named after Mark Gonzales himself and was one of the company's best-selling products. To meet the continuing demand from the 1980s, Vision introduced reissues of the Psycho Stick and Gonz decks, allowing a new generation of skateboarders to experience these classic designs. In recent years, Vision has also released the Vision Shredder, which is an interesting return to the era of classic skateboarding.Vision remains a revered name in the skateboarding world and its products continue to be highly sought after by vintage skateboard collectors.

Powell & Peralta

Powell and Peralta Skateboards is a company that has been a pioneer in the skateboarding industry since its creation in the 1970s. The company was founded by George Powell and Stacy Peralta, who were both passionate about skateboarding and had a vision to create high-quality skateboards for the growing skateboarding community. In the early days, Powell and Peralta Skateboards were known for their innovative deck designs and manufacturing techniques. They used a process called “air lamination,” which involved injecting a layer of foam between two layers of Canadian maple wood to create a stronger, more durable deck. This technique set Powell and Peralta apart from other skateboard companies and helped establish their reputation as one of the best skateboard brands in the industry. One of the biggest turning points for Powell and Peralta Skateboards was the creation of their “Bones Brigade” team. This team was composed of some of the best skateboarders in the world, including Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Rodney Mullen, and Lance Mountain. The Bones Brigade was not only a group of talented skateboarders, but they also helped promote and popularize Powell and Peralta skateboards through their innovative skateboarding tricks and signature style. In the 1990s, the skateboarding industry went through a significant decline, and many skateboard companies, including Powell and Peralta, struggled to stay afloat. However, the company was able to bounce back, and in the early 2000s, Powell and Peralta Skateboards once again became a leading brand in the industry. Today, the company continues to innovate and offer high-quality skateboards and related products to skateboarders of all skill levels.

This helped to further cement the brand's reputation as a leader in the skateboarding community, and contributed to its growing popularity around the world. In the 1990s and early 2000s, Santa Cruz Skateboards continued to evolve, experimenting with new designs and materials. They also started producing a wide range of skateboarding accessories, such as trucks, and wheels, making it easier for skaters to build their own complete skateboards.Today, Santa Cruz Skateboards remains one of the most recognized and respected brands in the skateboarding world.
